Dermal Fillers Level I

Course overview: Dermal Fillers are injectable gels used subcutaneously into the facial tissues with the purpose to restore height and volume. 

In this course, dentists will be introduced to dermal fillers and learn the concepts and features that make this product a great resource for treatment plans, as a support material that helps restore facial height and improve volume. 

Course objectives and description: This course was developed for dentists that have no experience with the use of dermal fillers. In this course, dentists will learn how to add dermal fillers as preventative, therapeutic and restorative material both for height and volume loss treatment support, 

By the end of this course, dentists will be able to:

  • Identify and determine facial volume and height loss
  • Identify symmetry issues
  • Introduce dermal fillers adequately into the treatment plan 
  • Perform the application of dermal fillers for basic procedures

By the end of this course, the dentists should be able to treat: 

  • Naso-labial folds
  • Downward commissures
  • Black triangles
  • Gummy smile
  • Complications

Course outline:

This course is composed of theory lecture followed by a laboratory session.

The lecture will cover:

  • Application techniques
  • Adverse and unwanted reactions
  • Complications
  • Clinical cases

At the laboratory, dentists will practice all techniques covered during the lecture on fresh frozen cadavers and will use transparent and colored aqueous gel for this session. Anatomical dissection may follow the practical session with the purpose to reassure the learning process for the techniques approached. 

General Information:

This is a one-day course and a certificate of completion from MARC institute/IFDS - Miami will be provided, along with 6CE hours certificate.
